The conduced review shows that the antimicrobial, antifungal and antiviral activity of native and European propolis are not different. Moreover in extracts from native and European propo-
lis the activity against microorganisms show the two groups of compounds: flavonoids and phenolic acid esters. To the strongers active substances belong: pinocembrin, galangine, pinostrobin, apigenin, myricetin, luteolin, ethyl ester of caffeic acid, and phenetyl ester of caffeic acid. The high antibiotic activity show also gallic acid.
