Main goal of the presented projects was to develop a modern, frame-retardant and ergonomic bullet-proof vests on a basis of fibrous composites, adapted for protection against the projectiles bringing high risk of perforation. The vests would protect against cold steel, thus resulting in improvement of the wearers safety and indirectly induce improving of feeling safe in respect to the society. The novelty of suggested solution consists in elaboration of a product which features light, ergonomic design and high class of ballistic resistance. It is assumed, that modern solutions will be applied into the vests structure, in order to ensure usage properties of higher level, compared to the products so far in use among the units subordinated to the Ministry of Interior. The presented protective vests are the result of the following projects: “Developing a modern, flame-retardant vest of the fibrous and polyethylene composites with the full 3D hard panels, with regard to protection against modern battlefield projectiles” (acronym: HARD VEST®), “Modern, flame resistant and ergonomic internal ballistic vest” (acronym: VEST) „Individualisation of the design of multifunctional, covered ballistic vest” (acronym: SECRET®).
